Sertoma with Padding

Benefitting

For the last twenty years the SERTOMA (Service to Mankind) Club has focused on providing funding for the Sertoma-Schiefelbusch Communication Camp. The camp provides a safe and educational environment for children with and without communication difficulties.

The SERTOMA (Service to Mankind) Club has served the Lawrence community for over 90
years (chartered in 1929), and they are proud to state that 100% of monies raised go back to the community. SERTOMA  has funded everything from ballpark lights to gazebos to flag poles to hearing “loops”.

SERTOMA returns 100% of fundraising monies to the community.

Benefitting

The Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation (LRCF) supports local charitable programs that help to stabilize housing and households in Douglas County. As the charitable arm of the Lawrence Board of REALTORS® (LBOR), the LRCF was founded in July of 2018.

In this short time the LBOR Community Foundation has awarded over $271,000 to fund local charitable organizations with programs to stabilize vulnerable households in our community, and for disaster relief and housing assistance directly to those impacted by the tornado that hit Douglas County in May of 2019.

The foundation returns 100% of fundraising proceeds to the community.

Benefitting

The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department Wee Folks Scholarship Fund guarantees youth the opportunity to participate in department
activities and programs regardless of economic condition and ensures their
participation in activities that have a positive impact on their personal development.

We’re grateful for this partnership with the City of Lawrence Parks & Recreation Department. Their partnership makes it possible to host Lawrence Lights: Making Spirits Bright at the Youth Sports Complex in southwest Lawrence.

SERTOMA, the LRCF, and the LPRD are working hard to “Make Spirits Bright” in our community.
